About JEM Farms

JEM FARMS

At JEM FARMS, we are committed to producing clean, high-quality milk through careful nutrition, exceptional herd health, and strict testing standards. Our cows are fed a balanced milking ration containing 17.5% protein and 5% fat, made from a blend of corn, soybean meal, oats, dried molasses, cottonseed hulls, and soy oil to support health, production, and overall wellbeing.

During the spring and summer months, our cows graze on fresh green pasture grass. Throughout the year, they also receive tested dairy-grade alfalfa and brome hay to ensure consistent nutrition and forage quality.

Herd health is a top priority at JEM FARMS. Calves are vaccinated at birth with Bangs vaccination and Trishield Gold. Our cows are dewormed every four months using Cydectin and are treated twice daily during summer months with milk-safe fly spray for comfort and protection.

To maintain a healthy herd and premium milk quality, our cows are regularly tested for BLV, BVD, Johne’s disease, and A2 status. Milk from every quarter of each cow is individually monitored for somatic cell count (SCC), and we only keep cows in our raw milk program that consistently test under 100 SCC.

We also perform daily at-home coliform testing, with additional milk samples sent to a certified laboratory every two weeks for further quality verification.

At JEM FARMS, transparency, animal care, and milk quality are at the heart of everything we do.
